Employment Discrimination

Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 made the following illegal in the workplace: race discrimination; discriminating on the basis of ethnic origin, nationality, or color; religious discrimination; and sex discrimination. Later acts of Congress made it illegal to discriminate on the basis of age (Age Discrimination Act), pregnancy, (Family and Medical Leave Act) or disability (Americans with Disabilities Act).
